Location

BrewBoat CLE is Ohio’s first and only fleet of pedal-powered (and now also non-pedal-powered) party boats!* Both the original BrewBoat CLE and BrewBoat II are 31-foot-long catamarans (hey, that’s fun to say … catamaran) propelled through the water by a large rear paddlewheel that’s powered by the pedaling of our riders! Ten guests work the gears at pedal stations surrounding a central mahogany bar and while the rest relax up front on our luxurious bench seating as we embark on daily cruises on the waters of the Cuyahoga River through Downtown Cleveland and beyond. Brewboat III & IV (or BrewBoat Lite) are a similar concept on a smaller scale, accomodating groups of up to 10 guests and ditching the pedals in favor of pub stools. *Pedaling not required

What is BrewBoat CLE?

Pricing varies based on day of week, group size, and boat selection. Please click book now and select the date, boat, and group size for an accurate price quote.

How much does it cost?

The Original BrewBoats (the cycleboat version) can safely accommodate up to 16 passengers per cruise. Seating on these boats includes 10 pedal stations surrounding the central bar and additional bench seating for non-pedalers. The new BrewBoat Lite boats can accommodate up to 12 guests at a time.

How many people can ride a BrewBoat?

Go to our booking page and choose either an original BrewBoat cruise or a BrewBoat Lite cruise Select your date/time and checkout with a credit card using our 2048-bit encrypted payment platform. Read and electronically sign your waiver.

Sounds awesome! How do I book a cruise?

Of course! We don’t call it the BrewBoat for nothing. We suggest passengers bring about three or four cans (beer, cider, seltzer, etc.) per person. You could also bring a 6-pack of beer or full bottle of wine to share between two people. However, no liquor is allowed on board. We recommend canned beer, as anything in a glass container will need to be transferred to our super-classy plastic cups (which we will provide) or wrapped in a wicked-cool BrewBoat koozie ($1).

Can I drink aboard BrewBoat CLE?

With the exception of a few specialty tours, the BrewBoat is strictly BYOB and BYOFood. Save yourself time by purchasing your drinks and snacks directly from Channel Park Marina’s Sea Store when you arrive. The Sea Store stocks most major domestic beers and keeps their coolers at a frosty 30°. For more on what you can/should bring, check out the aptly named “What You Should Bring on a BrewBoat Cruise?” section of the About Us page.

Do you provide any food or beverages?

Nope. The BrewBoats have large coolers built right into the bar that come fully stocked with ice for your cruise.

Do I need to bring a cooler or ice?

Ah, the golden question! The BrewBoats do not have a bathroom on board, so please plan accordingly! Based on our own extensive research, we’ve refined our route time to a length that works for almost every bladder, and we make sure to remind our guests to go before the cruise at the marina.

Is there a bathroom on board?

Regular cruises run approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from beginning to end, including a quick safety spiel before we embark.

How long are the cruises?

There is NO Pedaling required on any of our boats!

Are the cycleboats difficult to pedal?*

All ages are permitted to ride on the Duffy Boat rentals. Ages 6 and older are permitted to ride on all BrewBoat boats.

Are kids allowed to ride?

Our Self Captained Duffy Boats do not include a Captain. Our traditional BrewBoats both Cycle and Lite do include a Captain and Crew

Do you provide the driver?

Do them? We specialize in them! We take pride in tailoring every private, full boat rental to your party’s specific wants and needs. Whether you’re bringing your bachelorette party or looking for a unique brand of corporate team-building, be sure to let us know how we can make your cruise special in the comments/requests section during checkout.

Does BrewBoat CLE do private parties?

If you enjoy your ride, tip your guide! Suggested gratuity is $5-10 per passenger or 15% for full boat rental.

Can I leave a tip for the crew?

Bookings canceled 14 days prior to your cruise will be refunded minus a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 14 days from your scheduled cruise are non-refundable. Likewise, no-shows will not receive any credits or refunds. If your tour is canceled due to inclement weather, we will provide you with a full refund. Optional cancellation insurance is provided for $30 which allows for a 72 hour cancelation before the tour.

What is your cancellation policy?

The BrewBoat will usually sail in light rain, thanks to a collapsible canopy that covers the entire deck. In the case of extreme weather (if thunder, lightning or heavy winds are present) the captain reserves the right to delay or cancel the cruise. If your cruise is canceled, we will attempt to reschedule you for an alternate date/time or provide you with a full refund.

Additionally, all boats carry the appropriate emergency equipment. Here are some suggestions for what you can bring, to make the most of your experience: Around 3 or 4 drinks per person. There’s no bathroom on board, so try not to drink more than your bladder can hold! We can make an emergency stop if needed. An awesome playlist. We’ve got great tunes, but you know what your group likes better. No Nickelback. Sunscreen. You will need sunscreen. Seriously. Get the good stuff. Weather-appropriate clothes. We’re a summer attraction, but it’s Cleveland, so keep an eye on the forecast anyway and dress accordingly. Munchies. Pizzas, bags of chips, ants-on-a-log , decadent charcuterie, birthday cakes … all are welcome. Your awesome attitude and beautiful face. In case no one said anything, you really do look great today.

Captain Eric and his first mate Drew made our trip on the water one filled with memories and laughs. He pivoted a small hiccup with the boat without delay and made sure our girls’ adventure happened with success. If you are looking for an expert trip and a WHOLE lot of fun, book with the Brew Crew and on a Duffy Boat.

Update: spoke to Drew and he was very nice and refunded us part of our trip fee. He was very understanding and I will definitely be booking a trip again! We truly had the best time on the Brew Boat! We rented the boat to celebrate our friend getting married next month and had a great time! Our reservation was from 2-4pm. At around 3:15, one of the bridges broke down and we were unable to get back to our destination. We ended up sitting in the water for quite some time. Now, I understand things happen, but our captain did nothing to make sure we got back to our destination. We ended up having to walk all the way from Merwin's warf to the flats where the boat originally picked us up. The co captain, Brendan, was great and asked the captain if they would be able to pay for our ubers. The captain said no and proceeded to kick us off her boat and make us walk back to the destination. We were lucky that it was a beatiful summer day so I did not mind the walking, but with 12 girls I thought the situation couldve been handled better. She also went on to ask for a tip when I had already given a 20% tip prior to our trip. Kinda stinks we paid for a full 2 hours only got about an hour and a halff.. but regardless we had fun before the bridge broke.

Extremely fun and honestly so easy from both booking and driving-the-boat perspectives. Only wish there were an option to rent the boat for longer. Would recommend and do again!

The Brew boat was very fun ride on the river, the sound system was great, we had no problem connecting to their sound system. The only thing I would suggest would be cleaner ice for the drinks. Perhaps have the clean ice in a separate bag, and not just down in the cooler where we stored the bottles. We also had a hard time figuring out where to board the boat. We called an hour before and could not get an answer. However over all it was a great ride. The captain and 1st mate were very friendly and a joy to have on board.

Sorry I'm late for the post, I must say this was nice, especially if you just want to hang out on the river and just enjoy yourself!Only draw back is that it's hard docking when you want to grab a bite to eat because all the bigger boats take up a lot of spots.

My friends and I rented a Duffy boat as part of a friend’s birthday. Everyone absolutely loved the boat and all of its amenities. Unfortunately, a bad storm came in and we felt safer to dock even though we were not instructed to do so. They let us spend the rest of the time in the boat on the dock (luckily with removable window panels so we stayed dry!). Hopefully next time we can stay out on the water. Would definitely recommend for special occasions, but only with a larger group as it is rather pricey.
